Actor Park Yoochun has been chosen by the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 to be the most popular actor of Asia.
Yahoo Korea (www.yahoo.co.kr) announced the results of its online popularity vote that picks the most popular actor of each country ahead of the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 (www.seouldrama.org) that will be held on August 31.
The result of the online popularity vote for this year had the Korean male actor Park Yoochun (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) receive the most votes at 480,000 votes among 115 candidates and he became the most popular actor in Asia for Seoul Drama Awards 2011.
Following Park Yoochun (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) was Jang Keunsuk (Mary is Staying Out), Kim Jaewon (Can You Hear My Heart) at 2nd and 3rd places respectively. For 1st place among Korean female actresses Mun Keunyoung (Mary is Staying Out) was picked and Park Minyoung (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and Ha Jiwon (Secret Garden) followed.
The actors who have taken #1 for the online popularity vote in not merely Korea but also in Japan, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong will receive the Netizen Popularity Award in the Seoul Drama Awards 2011 awards ceremony. This awards ceremony will take place on the 31st at 5:20pm in the KBS Hall of Yuwido, and will be broadcast live on SBS TV.
